Review:
"Revolutionary Road" is an incisive portrait of a marriage American seen through the eyes of Frank (Leonardo DiCaprio) and April Wheeler (Kate Winslet). The story that makes Richard Yates of the America of the 50 poses a question that has been impacting since about modern relationships: can two people break the routine without breaking between them? Frank and April have always considered special, different, ready and willing to live their lives according to higher ideals. So as they move into their new home in Revolutionary Road, proudly declare their independence from the suburban inertia that surrounds them and decide not to get caught not by the social restrictions of his time. However, despite its charm, beauty and irreverence, the Wheelers find they are becoming exactly what they did not expect: a good man with a meaningless job that has lost value, an unhappy housewife who longs for a little satisfaction and passion, an American family with dreams unfulfilled, like any other. Determined to change their fates, April hatches a bold plan to start again, to leave behind the comforts of Connecticut and go to the vastness of the unknown in Paris.
